A snippet for the day

Remember me from last year? I’m back but this time just to mentor our new team of summer trainees blogging their way to your hearts. They are doing brilliant job, aren’t they?

Actually I’m now here just to give a snippet of what will follow in our blog. There will actually be a post coming from my pen, answering to a question that many summer trainee will carry in their heart when their contract is coming to an end:

What now?

One alternative is, as it did to myself, to get permanently employed by Metso. And I am not alone. One of the most common ways to be permanently employed by Metso is to share few (or many, as Pentti has done) summers in various positions – to really showcase your talent and make a point of yourself to be kept in the house. It is a win-win situation, if you want to stay, too 😉

There will be couple of interviews and insights of what has happened since the interviewees last summer traineeship. I think you may even recognize some of the persons interviewed. I am extremely proud to present one summer trainee from many years back that is now a…. Well, maybe I won’t share more as it would ruin my post 😉

Stay tuned as our bloggers are not even near to an end with their ideas of posts. But do leave a comment, if there is something that you would like to hear of. We can always try to squeeze it in somewhere.

Until the next time,

Tume

It has been really fun

Just like all other wonderful times that pass so quickly, we are now approaching the end of summer in Finland. Yet for me this marks an exciting starting point as I recently finished my traineeship in Metso and started working as a full-time business analyst in Metso Group Strategy at Helsinki headquarter.

I first joined Metso as a trainee in Group Strategy in October 2012. With a degree in energy management & economics, as well as a degree in finance, I like working on a mix of everything, exploring “terra incognita” and constantly challenging myself. Also for me nothing is more enjoyable when I can discover all the excitement by working in an energetic, mutual-supporting and (perhaps most importantly) fun team.

So after all, what do I do in my work, how this summer has been for me and what is the best thing so far I’ve found about working in Metso? Without revealing more, I’ll let you to find answer to these questions in this video clip. It’s has been difficult to squeeze all the excitement and fun into a short video, so if you would like to know more, I encourage you to leave your comments or better still, apply to Metso and become one of us!
